Measuring a narrow entry hall

Clear path: keep at least 36 inches of walkway; 42 inches feels generous.
Door swing: measure where the open front door reaches and keep that area free.
Console depth: hall width minus 36 inches gives the maximum depth you can use.
Mirror width: about two-thirds of the console length looks balanced.
